With ComparaOnline's biggest product being Car Insurance, there was a big opportunity to achieve more engagement with their existing clients and also captivate new clients through developing a mobile app. Once the user purchased his or her car insurance through the site, they would be able to have all of their policy's information accessible on their mobile app in case of an emergency. It would also provide a step-by-step of what to do in case of an accident.
My role in this project consisted on designing the first flows and wireframes of the app and participated on creating the list of features that would be on the MVP. To be able to prioritize which features to begin with, we realized user interviews via telephone with clients that had purchased their car insurance through the site. We asked them about their previous experiences using their insurance and obtained insight of what features where perceived as important to them.
In this section the user will be able to access their policy online and see the coverages and benefits, along with all the emergency numbers related to their insurance company.
In this section, we will provide a step-by-step with what to do in case of an accident. The user will be able to register all the information required for the insurance company while making the claim.
I left the company before the app was put into production, but overall, I had a great experience with the process I got to participate in. It was my first time working on a mobile app, so I got the chance to learn more on material design for android and the differences with the iOS design guidelines. I would definitely like to work more on mobile app design in the future.
